Kaunghmudaw Pagoda

I like this place because the pagoda is so big, white and clean looking. It rises about 46 m in height. There are 812 stone pillars each about 1.5 m high surrounding the pagoda. One of the staff says that the shape of the pagoda is supposed to represent the breast of a Myanmar queen. Erm…. Ok…. But if that’s the case, then why is there only one big dome???

The interior of the pagoda has many thousands of pieces of mirrors adorning the walls. They create a beautiful piece of art. I could not capture the beauty of it because of the reflections created by the mirrors. The dog is enjoying a nap right in front of the Buddha! So much for respect! But it is such a cute sight!
