Chicken or Beef

I have been cordially invited to my school's Gala Dinner in aid of our school's building fund. I'm super excited about it because it will be held at the Ritz Carlton and each table there costs a whopping $10,000! The tables are donation by kind and rich parents. That means come Thursday night, I would have probably tasted the most expensive dinner in my life!

We had to make a choice between chicken or beef 2 weeks before this. At first, I thought of having the beef as that is more expensive (must make the most out of this dinner yah). Then I decided against it as I didn't want to get any red meat caught in my braces during this glam dinner. So chicken it is for me.

I'm still wondering why this dinner costs $1,000 per seat, (aside from it being a form of fund-raising) and I can understand now after looking at the invitation card. Apparently, after each course, wine would be served. I'm no wine connoisseur but going by the wine list, it looks good. I'm too lazy to type out the wine list now. If it's truly good, then I'll be back to share. In the meantime, be envious of me!

Birthday Again

Had a very belated birthday meal with friend N which ended up with drinks at the New Asia Bar on the 70th storey of Swissotel. Great view, great company, great conversation, great drinks. Great music? Nah. Cannot understand the kind of music that was played there and I swore that the volume increased at an exponential rate as the night wore on. 2 lychee martinis and a hazelnut thingy later, N and I parted. Me to my inviting bed, and N to part 2 of drowning in alcohol.

Whites

One day after plucking out three strands of white hair from my sister's right side of her head and gloating secretly inside that I'm so lucky, I found to my horror an extremely long white one of my own. I understand the full meaning of retribution.
