Last Days

I'm so glad tomorrow will be my last day of classes in Jinan! Will be returning to Singapore on Thursday midnight and will arrive back home on Friday morning. Whee!!! So glad I'm finally leaving Jinan. Can't take anymore of this cold. Even though I am slowly getting used to it but I think I still prefer to be hot. I think it's easier to cool down than to warm up. But I surprised myself the other day when the temperature went up from -12 to -8 degrees Celcius, by commenting "Today's quite warm." It is sub-zero but I said it's warm! The cold must have frozen my brain!

Anyway, I'll be back in time for CNY and will not be leaving anytime soon. I figured that I need to get my braces fixed and I cannot delay it any further. My photos are hideous cos of my metallic teeth.

My Singapore! My homeland!

Round and Rosy

Anqi is a typical China child - rosy cheeks and 'bowl' haircut. Her mother says she is so 淘气.

Let It Snow

Jinan has not snowed like this for a while! So lucky that we caught it! And right before I'm supposed to return to Singapore! So white, so clean, so pure and so fun!

Gem, I, Marvin posing in the snow covered carpark. About 3 m away from us, some workers were trying to sweep the snow away. Needless to say, there were giving us amused and weird looks.

Me and my snowballs! But they just broke apart when I tried to throw them.
A snowbear left by a father and son pair on the Thousand Buddha Mountain.

It is apparent that mama and papa love the snow too!

Back At Last

After a 3 week hiatus, I'm back. What have I been doing all this time? Work work.... Plus some travelling. I'll be returning to Singapore soon, so I have to take the chance and see as much of China as I can in this limited time. Also partly because parents are in town, so the 3 of us can go around together. In this short time, we have been to Weifang, Qingdao, Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. Would love to visit more places, but no time! I'll just share some of my favourite photos from these places.

不到长城非好汉 - I can now say proudly that I am a 好汉!

In Shanghai with a 'pi xiu' (貔貅) - My dad's favourite mythical animal. Everytime we see a 'pi xiu', he would go up and touch it (without fail!) as it would supposedly bring wealth. Hopefully, taking a photo with it can bring us equal amounts of fortune!
In Qingdao with my student's parents.

West Lake or 'xi hu' in Hangzhou. Beautiful scenary. Freezing weather.
