Ouch!

Had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday afternoon. One on top and one below. Friend L asked me to rate the pain level on a scale of 1 - 10. For the top, I would say 0. There is totally no pain at all! But for the bottom, I would say 100! Yes, it's so painful!!!! (And I totally cannot count from 1 - 10!) Got 4 stitches there! Gums are hurting like mad. Have to constantly keep the gauze there to prevent it from bleeding too much. Cannot talk properly. Can only have a liquid diet. No one to sayang me like how I sayang the doggie.... boohoohoo..... pain pain!

What the....

When I saw this photo, I couldn't help but exclaim in my head "What in the world is she wearing?!?!" This person is someone I know and she is terribly afraid of the sun, more so than me apparently! At least I do it in glamour (or at least try!) when I try to hide from the sun.
Her dress sense has always been the centre of debate among us, but this! THIS is the ultimate! What is that THING around her chest?!? Gosh! How can anyone be seen in public in THIS! I've very kindly cut her face from the photo, but if you could have seen it, my goodness, you would see her wearing a complete combo of BIG shades and a BIG hat. *faint*

Hello Again

It's been a while since I last met everyone..... At my impromptu visit to JWSS yesterday evening, I was really happy to see familiar faces again. (even though the number gets smaller and smaller each time I'm there)
Was only planning on meeting the teachers but it turned out that the uniform groups were having Speech Day rehearsals. I was in luck! Met my Red Cross cadets, and some of my 2E1 students who had graduated but returned to help out with the event.
So happy to see everyone! From the people in the office like Aishah, Muniamah, Vimala...... to teachers like Kathleen, Serena, Alice, Adeline, May, Roy, Peck Lin, Zarina...... to Red Cross cadets like Cin Lee, Veronica, Mardhiyah, Jiamin, Geraldine, Valerie, Nashuha, Wan Jing, Xian Ying....... to my 2E1 students like Jia Feng, Eugene, Alvin..... Didn't realise how much I missed everyone until I met them!
So 2E1, when are we having our outing?

Enough Is Enough

My headphones miraculously recovered the other day. But I am determined to make SE change a new set for me. I'm not going to take anymore chances with this phone. I have already written a complain letter to inform them how distressed I was over the quality of their phone and their reply was that my case has been "escalated to higher management for their review and necessary actions".
I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for 5 working days, but still no news from the so-called higher management.

Dr Mario

My dentist looks like Super Mario! I'm now not afraid to visit my dentist, rather, I'm now afraid I may burst into laughter each time I see him! Ho Ho Ha Ha Ha!

Space Dog

Poor Randolph has become a space dog.... All because his erm, private part, got bitten/pierced by some unknown insect/animal/object. He has to wear the cone to prevent him from scratching. The cone has taken all cheer out of this lively dog.... He must be in pain. Sayang sayang......

Jinxed Jinx

I happily collected my hp with a nice new cover on Saturday! No cracks! Brand new start! I shall not harp on what happened in between and how the service centre gave me a replacement phone that had a perpetual flat battery and was totally incompetible with my 3G sim card. What's the use of giving me a replacement phone if it cannot be used?!?!
Anyway, I was on the bus after the collection and was playing with my resurected hp. I thought some music would make me happier and so I plugged in the headphones. Hmm, is the bus so noisy that I can't hear the music? Or is my hearing really so bad? I increased the volume..... Eh, no what, I can hear the background melody, just not the singer. Funny.....
When I got off the bus, I turned on the walkman function and pulled out the earphones. I could hear the song loud and clear.... background music, singer's voice, everything! I put the earphones back on. No more singer's voice. Pulled out the earphones. He's singing again. Plugged the earphones in again. No more singing. Removed the earphones. La la la la la......
So you see, after my front cover has been fixed, my headphones are now spoilt! Am I jinxed or am I jinxed? Why couldn't it spoilt on the day I went to fix the cover so that I could get everything done at the same time? Why did it have to spoil only now?!?!?! And isn't there any quality control in SE's productions?
One word to sum it all..... Suay! Suay! Suay!

Mr Browner and I

I'm back today at Swirl to be the Elf of the Day! I'm so bored all by myself in the shop that I'm using the Photo Booth function to take photos of myself and Mr Browner! Who? Hehe... Mr Browner is a gingerbread man that was made specially for Christmas. He is now out of season and relegated to the storeroom. Awww..... Poor thing.....

Problem Sum

A, L, S1 and S2 went for dinner. When it was time to foot the bill, S2 paid $32 and A paid $48. But L and S1 said all four of them should split the bill. If L and S1 paid $20 each to A and S2 respectively, how much should S2 pay A?

The Saga Continues

I thought it would be the last time I had to go down to get my hp fixed. How wrong I was!
Remember I called to ask about the stock on Friday, and I was told to go down within 3 days if I wanted to get my hp cover changed, so I went down on Saturday to leave my phone with the service centre, and the staff there said I would be able to get my phone back on Sunday 5 pm. Since my phone was in the service centre, I asked them to deactivate the Singtel IDEAS button for me as well. (Cause I kept accidentally pressing the button and it would automatically connect to the net)
On Sunday 1 pm, I received a call from the service centre and the person on the line said something like "We cannot change the cover because there is something wrong with the stock so can you come down and collect your phone first?"
KAAAA - PUIIIII!!!!
What nonsense is this?!? If you can't fix my phone, then why bother taking it in on Saturday! And why ask me to hurry down within 3 days in the first place! PUI PUI PUI!!! SE sucks!!!!! I got so mad that the bitch in me surfaced. I didn't bother giving them face anymore and just blasted them over the phone. I blasted the manager too.
How many times do you want me to go down to the service centre? You think I'm very free is it? And you should fine tune your own repair procedures! I didn't buy a SE phone just to visit you at the service centre! Best part, when I went to get my phone, I realised they had done nothing to my phone. Nothing! Zero! Zilch! The Singtel IDEAS key could still be activated. I felt really sick after that.
Any more crap and I can assure you I'm going to sell this phone away and go back to my beloved N, and tell everyone to boycott SE. Forever!

Que Sera, Sera

Que Sera, Sera
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours to see
Que Sera Sera
What will be, will be

Friend L replied "What will be, will be" when asked about her single status. Is this being optimistic, or simply just leaving it to fate? Do we really need to make an effort to meet people or can we just be content with the people currently in our circle, be it uncles, married men and friends whom we have grown to be so comfortable with.

Blast Off

Haven't gotten so angry in a long time! Lousy service at SE.
1. The SE phone is so laupok that the front cover has cracked. Not like I'm some Hercules pressing on the buttons!
2. I went to the service centre and there was no replacement phone. Good thing I had not traded in my previous phone yet.
3. I left my phone with them only to be informed 3 days later that the cover was not in stock. I had to get my phone back (with nothing being done to it!) and wait for them to call me again. They said that I would not need to wait the second time I return. Great!
4. I waited and waited and waited.
5. More than a month later, I'm still waiting.
6. Decided to be pro-active and called the service centre and asked about the stock.
7. Ok, the stock had arrived, but is running low. So you mean to say that the stock was actually here some time ago and you guys didn't call to inform me?!?! And now you want me to go down within 3 days if I still want to get it changed. Worst part is I have to re-queue! Going to the service centre is a nightmare on its own already and now they give me this crap! What happened to all the promises earlier on?
That's when I totally lost it and almost screamed at the girl! I know it's not her fault, but what kind of service is this? There's a limit to my patience. Before I hung up, I told her "Can u inform the service centre which I went to that their service is terrible!" I should have added horrible, awful, appalling, atrocious, horrendous, inexcusable.....

Heaven on Earth

Desserts always taste sweeter when shared with close friends. Plus an order of Affrogato (expresso shot over vanilla ice-cream), it is simply heaven! Not to mention insomnia after that! My kind of insomnia is weird - I have no problems falling asleep, but would wake up in the early hours of the next morning..... perhaps something is wrong with my system, the expresso needs a few hours before it kicks in!

Din Din

All I wanted was to have dinner with you guys, but when I started messaging everyone to arrange the meeting, almost everyone asked 'What's the occasion?' or 'You are flying off again?' or 'You have something to tell us?'...... Yeah, I'm flying off to China and getting married next month and I want to invite you all to my wedding..... Right!
Can't I just organise a simple dinner without all these questions? Do I need a motive to eat with you all? Anyway, it is friend W who wants to use this dinner to invite some of us to her wedding.... not me ok!
See you all at 7 pm today! Please don't be late! Will be very hungry by 7 pm!

Laughing Elf

Would you like to be at East Coast Park at 7.30 am in the morning and go 'HO HO HA HA HA' or shout 'VERY GOOD, VERY GOOD, YEAH!' at every 5 minute interval? I had a hilarious morning last Saturday when my sister had to cover this laughing activity and the whole family, including Randolph, went along with her. We joined the laughter club and had a 1 hour vocal and physical workout. The actual HO HO HA HA HA was not very funny, but while doing it, I realised how silly and ridiculous I was, and would sometimes burst out laughing. At the end of the whole exercise, we had to chant:
One, two, three, laughter is free!
Young or old, laughter is gold!
East or west, laughter is best!
After my workout, I went to be the Elf of the Day at my sister's Swirl shop. It's tiring being a salesgirl. I shall be nice to all salespeople from now on!

Girls only!

This is a out-dated post of my cny. My paternal family was not supposed to celebrate cny this year because of my gong gong (by the way, when I said gong gong to my chinese students, they all thought I was referring to my father-in-law!), but my auntie decided that we should all still gather and do some 'family stuff' together. So we all turned up at Changi for a family chalet. I was the oldest among the youngest generation there and I became the gang leader of my girl cousins! Naughty boys are not welcomed into my gang. We meet each other very infrequently, but amazingly, we managed to click! So here are Keryn Wong, Grace Sng, Angela Sng and Sandra Sng! Who's who? Go figure!

Version 1.1

You have heard of Rudolph the red nose raindeer, but have you heard of Randolph the brown nose doggie? I overheard my dad singing this new version of the christmas carol after one of his outings with his new 'friend'. Seems like Randolph is like the grandson he doesn't have! He keeps wanting to bring the doggie out for a walk or for a car ride. Also, father and mother are obsessed with picking up dog poo or making him drink more water! With the addition of Randolph to the family, it seems like we are now spending more time together!

Winter Again!

It has been raining non-stop for the past few days and it's so cold that I'm wearing my winter stuff from Jinan! Haha! It's just a cardi I got there, not the thick kind! I can't help but feel 'du du' all over when I put on the cardi, which reminded me of my students in China. There was once I used the words 'du du' and they didn't know what I was saying and were laughing like mad! Do you know what I mean when I say my cardi is 'du du'? Or is this some kind of language used in my family only?
In other fashion related news, I saw this woman wearing a pink and orange combi..... Hmm.... Have never seen anyone wear these 2 bright colours together before.... She looked quite freaky!
